Choosing The Right Day To Shop Could Save You Big
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Everybody loves a good deal, but don't you hate when you miss out on a big sale?
Now, there is a way to latch onto deals when they happen. Kyle James from RatherBeShopping.com has discovered that many retail chains have their markdowns on a schedule.
"By knowing the day, you can really go in and maximize your savings," says James.
For example, if you like Macy's, James says shop on Tuesdays.
"They have their markdowns done by Monday close," he said.
At Old Navy, James found Wednesdays are best.
At Target, it depends on the department. Mondays are best for electronics and Tuesdays are good for women's clothing.
It's the first and third Fridays of the month for JC Penney.
At the Gap, it's twice a month on Mondays.
"You'll notice a ton more stuff in the clearance section," says James.
And don't be afraid to ask a salesperson about deals. They often know when sales are starting.
