According to the criminal complaint, 20-year-old Hughes, met the 14-year-old girl through a family friend. He saw her again at a bonfire party over the summer where he allegedly cornered her, pushed her against his vehicle to lay her down on his hood. The girl’s older sister intervened.

During the West Alexander Fair, held in September, Hughes, is accused of making inappropriate advances toward the teenager.

The complaint further recounts how Hughes befriended the 14-year-old on Facebook, then later called her, offering to pick her up at home and, “Show you what sex is like.”
