READING, Pa. (KDKA) – A Charlie Brown Christmas tree has come to life in Reading.

You might remember some residents of the town complained about their “ugly” Christmas tree.

Now the tree has officially received the Charlie Brown treatment after town officials decorated it with just one single red bulb like the iconic cartoon.

“I just started to cry when they said they were taking it down, so it makes me so happy inside,” one resident said.

Some residents complained that the 50-foot spruce was ruining their holiday spirit.

A group even raised money to buy and decorate an alternative tree.

But in the end, the town decided the national and international attention the tree received was worth it.

People from nearby states have even made the trip to see it.

“Putting our city on the map in a positive way,” one resident said.
