PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A local teenager is accused of stabbing a man outside of his home after the victim got into a fight with his father.

However, police said they won’t know the full story until the victim recovers.

The victim, 34-year old Justin Kalich, is in the intensive care unit at Forbes Hospital.

The hospital said he remains in critical condition after he was stabbed numerous times.

The incident happened in the driveway of Earl Keim III’s home.

His son, 17-year-old Earl Keim IV reportedly stabbed Kalich. The Hempfield High School student told police he did it after Kalich and his father got into a physical fight.

It was 2 a.m. when Kalich showed up at the house.

State Police don’t know why .just yet, but things may have started earlier that night at Delaney’s Bar in Youngwood.

“The victim and the actor’s father and several other people were at a bar consuming alcohol. There were no problems reported at the bar,” Tpr. Steve Limani said.

Today, along South English Street in Youngwood, no one answered at the Keim home.

Neighbors say Keim’s mother lives on the street as well and that the Keim family is well-known in the Westmoreland County judicial system.

Because Kalich is in a medically induced coma, troopers haven’t been able to interview him.

They say they’re piecing the facts together with the story they have.

“We have some physical evidence we’re working on right now between the clothing of the victim, his injuries. We’re working with the medical staff at Forbes Regional to see how many times he was stabbed,” Limani said.

The younger Keim was released from jail on a $25,000 bond. He was charged as an adult with attempted homicide.

State Police say they are waiting for Kalich’s condition to improve so they can talk to him and find out his version of the events that unfolded early Wednesday morning.
