PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The extreme cold this week isn’t just taking a toll on humans – it affects your pets too.

And the city is taking notice.

New ordinances are in place regarding how long animals can be out in the cold.

According to the city, owners are not allowed to leave dogs outside for more than 30 minutes if the temperature is below 32 degrees.

Officials ask that you report any violations to Animal Care and Control at 412-255-2036.
