5th Grader Suspended After School Officials Find Hit List

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A threatening note was found inside a local elementary school and police say they are not taking it lightly.

That note contained the names of other students and police have already been in contact with the Westmoreland County District Attorney.

Lower Burrell Police are investigating the apparent hit list from a fifth grade boy from Stewart Elementary School.

Police won't say what's in the note, but say it's of a threatening nature.

The boy has since been suspended.

"You never know," said Louis Teichman of Lower Burrell. "People come in with guns. It happened down in Pittsburgh, down in that school and people see it on TV. It's well-promoted on television, it's not like they hide it anymore."

Police say they plan to talk to the fifth grade boy and his parents.

They also plan to talk to the boys who were listed on the note, as well as their parents.

Police say by Monday they will decide if the student will face any charges.
