PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Port Authority’s new Connect Card features launch today.

Connect Card transfers are now fully automatic, but users will no longer need to tell operators that they want to buy a transfer, or get a paper transfer slip.

Transfers will now be processed electronically, and any fees will be automatically deducted.

Single trip and single trip transfer tickets will be sold at Connect Card machines starting today as well.

You will also soon be able to reload your Connect Card on the Port Authority website.

“You no longer will have to go to the Downtown service center or Giant Eagle to reload your card; you’ll be able to do it from home or work or wherever, said the Port Authority’s Jim Ritchie.

The Port Authority hopes the changes will make traveling easier and more convenient for riders.
