Furry Tails: Arthur & Stormfly Are Searching For Good Homes

Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!

Stormfly

Animal Rescue League
With a name like Stormfly, this kitty sounds like an action hero! But really, she's just a very shy girl looking for a patient forever family. She loves to snuggle and play with other cats.

Animal Rescue League says:
While initially very skittish of humans, Stormy has come a long way since she arrived at her foster home. She is a delight -- playful and fun! She loves interactive play, and will bat around a little mouse on her own. She now sleeps with her foster mom, and loves her morning pets. She can be very affectionate at times, but she prefers to come to you in situations where she feels comfortable and safe.

Stormy obviously has a huge capacity for love, but she is, at this point, a lot more comfortable with cats than with humans. With other cats, she is a loving, affectionate playmate. She would be a wonderful companion for an existing cat who wants someone to play and snuggle with. She is becoming more comfortable with people; she follows her foster mom around the house, watches her exercise with a keen interest, plays next to her, and hops up in front of the TV to watch hockey! But she is still very skittish when approached. She will need a patient adopter with a quiet home who can commit to working with her to build her comfort with humans. She also must be adopted into a home with another cat, and/or adopted with her sister Astrid.

If you have any questions about Stormfly, please contact her foster mom at tanyaarlcats@gmail.com.

Arthur

Animal Friends
His life started a little rough and tumble, but now Arthur is a cat who is looking to settle down in a forever home. He's a street smart guy who needs a little love in his life!

Animal Friends says:
Arthur, an 8-year-old, black Domestic Shorthair mix, has every reason to not want to be your friend. Arthur has clearly spent most of his life outdoors, living rough on the streets.

Arthur came to Animal Friends after a kind-hearted person found him begging on her front porch. He had fleas and thinning fur, and his left eye has a cataract. We also noticed he's missing small parts of his body - his right ear is notched, he is missing part of a toe on his left rear foot, and some of his teeth have rotted away. One might conclude that he is not really all there, but this little guy has the street smarts to know there is someone out there looking for a stand-up guy like him.

Arthur is a friendly guy and will happily climb in your lap for some attention. He's been here for a little over a month and is still waiting for his forever home. Could it be yours?

If you can help, come to Animal Friends at 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15237 or call 412-847-7002. For more information on how you can adopt any of the pets at Animal Friends, visit their website here!
