KDKA's Marty Griffin talked to the chief of Northern Regional Police, who confirms they are investigation allegations of a possible inappropriate relationship, much of it texting, between the teacher and a student.

Investigators are reportedly trying to capture texts between the two that go back months and months.

Sources say the investigation focuses on text messages between a teacher at Pine Richland High School and a 15-year-old female student.

Sources tell KDKA-TV the alleged text messages from the teacher commented on the girl's appearance and clothing and her personal life. One also allegedly made vague references to drugs and sex.

Police confirm they are investigating the teacher.

Police also indicate they are in the very early stages of the investigation, and at this time, they cannot comment further.

The school district also confirms there is an investigation, but will not confirm details.

We are also told police are trying to retrieve a number of conversations between the student and the teacher that have been deleted.

We are also told the issue was reported to the school district by a parent who found the messages on her daughter' cell phone. The school district immediately called police.
