Josh Harrison Talks Recovering From His Slow Start And The Team's New Celebration

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison joined the Starkey and Mueller Show to talk about both he and the team turning a corner at the plate, what it's like for him playing a number of different positions, and where their new celebration that replaced the "Z" came from.

When it comes to his slow start to the season and if that could have had anything to do with his recently signed new contract, Harrison said he looks at it like it's just something that happens from time to time as players start the year off slowly.

"Sometimes things don't go your way," Harrison said. "Sometimes you try to do too much, sometimes you go up there and try to get it all back in one at-bat when you just got to take it pitch by pitch."

Harrison also discussed with us what it has been like moving from position to position this year and if it impacts him at all.

"I did it last year, so it's not really anything to me," Harrison said. "I know I got to be prepared everyday to play somewhere different whether it's an injury, a double switch or somebody is getting a day off. It comes with the territory. I just want to be able to win games any way possible."

On a lighter note, Harrison told us about the team's reaction when Pedro Alvarez flashed the "Z" after an RBI single rather than doing their new celebration.

"I lost it man, we started laughing. It caught us all off guard, I think he caught himself off guard as well," he said.

Harrison told us there won't be any fine in kangaroo court for Pedro and also shares with us that the team has plans for revealing the origins of their new celebration this year.
