HOMEWOOD BOROUGH (KDKA) — A man riding an ATV in Beaver County early Saturday morning suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a train.

The accident happened around 6:45 a.m. on Main Street in Homewood Borough.

Emergency officials say the man may have lost one or both his legs in the accident.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the weather kept a medical helicopter from airlifting the 30-year-old victim from the scene.

But he is now being treated at Allegheny General Hospital.

Officials with Norfolk Southern are investigating the incident, the Post-Gazette reports.
