Police: 3-Year-Old Kicked, Made To Wear Urine-Soaked Underwear On Head

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The charges on the criminal complaint jump out to you.

A local man is charged with kicking a 3-year-old boy, then making him wear dirty underpants on his head as punishment for wetting his pants.

State Police say 31-year-old Jason Kistner admitted to kicking the boy in the rear end as they left a Mt. Pleasant home.

Kistner and a male friend were taking the child and his brother to a babysitter in May.

It was Kistner's friend who told police the rest of what happened that day.

Kistner, while wearing cowboy boots, reportedly kicked the boy so hard he fell onto the porch.

Kistner then belted the boys in their car seats, but Kistner allegedly made the 3-year-old wear urine-stained underwear on his head as punishment, instructing the child not to look out of the car window and to hold his head down.

It was the babysitter who noticed the boy had bruising and took him to the hospital.

There it was determined the boy had been physically abused and required the hospital to keep him overnight, giving him IV fluids to prevent kidney damage.

The mother of the children, 24-year-old Jean Hawes was at work, but is also in jail for leaving the children with Kistner who had allegedly assaulted the boy previously.
