Pat Narduzzi 'Just Worried About The Moment' During Record-Setting Campaign

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Pitt football head coach Pat Narduzzi joined "The Fan Morning Show" on Monday to talk about his team after its win over Louisville this weekend.

The win gave Pitt six conference wins for the first time in program history.

That is quite an accomplishment for a first-year coach, and especially impressive considering Pitt still has one ACC game left - a Black Friday home game against Miami.

Narduzzi is pleased with where his program stands, although he's already looking ahead to its next challenge.

"You'd like to be always ahead of schedule," Narduzzi said. "Right now, we're ahead of schedule for this Miami week, I can tell you that. We've got practice here this morning. But, I would think most people, anybody sees any wins over six, I guess, thinks we're ahead of schedule."

Narduzzi said that he hasn't had too much time to think about his program's progress.

"You don't really have time to look back and see where you are," Narduzzi said. "You're just worried about the moment that you're in now, and preparing for that next game."

Narduzzi credited his players for taking what they've been given and rolling with it.

"Our kids have been resilient all year, for sure," Narduzzi said. "Our kids have played their tails off... our kids believe in what's going on right now. We give them what we think are the keys to victory, and they take those with them, and they head out on the field and get it done."

Narduzzi thinks his team has gotten better in just about every area, although there's one that has caught his eye the most.

"I think we've gotten better, really, at everything," Narduzzi said. "I mean, if we haven't gotten better, then we've failed our kids as coaches. I really believe we've gotten better at the fundamentals. I think we've really gotten better at the concepts, understanding the concepts, and understanding how we fit in the concepts...just the way our kids have adjusted. When you watch it, it's almost music to your ears, as you see those guys. It's a hat for a hat, and our kids have a chance to make some plays when we do run some of those plays correctly."
