Cows Loose On The Highway, Close Down Part of I-80

EMLENTON (KDKA)- A herd of cows caused quite a problem along part of Interstate 80 late Thursday night.

A truck hauling around 40 cows crashed along I-80 near Emlenton in Venango County.

According to ExploreClarion.com, the cows started crossing the highway, causing a traffic hazard. So, police were forced to shut down the westbound lanes of I-80 between mile marker 42 and mile marker 45.

The westbound part of the intestate didn't reopen until early Friday morning.

Police are looking into what caused the cow hauler to crash. It doesn't appear the driver of the truck was seriously injured.
