CLAIRTON (AP) - Police say the family of a Pittsburgh-area man found him shot to death when they returned from a trip during the Christmas holiday weekend.

The Allegheny County medical examiner identified the victim as 44-year-old Michael Brown.

He lived in the Century Townhomes community in Clairton, about 10 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

The housing project for low-income residents was originally built by the federal government to house workers at U.S. Steel's Clairton Coke Works in the 1940s.

Authorities announced Brown's death on Tuesday.
