UPPER ST. CLAIR (KDKA) — A big road construction project will begin detouring some 19,000 drivers in the South Hills next week through the end of summer.

According to Allegheny County officials, Painters Run Road in Upper St. Clair will be closing on Monday morning for a stabilization project.

Officials say crews will be doing the $2.35 million project in two phases.

The first phase begins at 7 a.m. Monday and will close the area between McMillan and Robb Hollow Roads through the end of May.
