Comcast Outage Hits Customers Nationwide

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A major Comcast outage affected thousands of people across the country including here in Pittsburgh.

At one point customers from Pennsylvania, Chicago, Seattle, Denver, Houston, Portland, Baltimore, New York, Washington, Minneapolis, Fort Lauderdale, and Jacksonville were affected.

During the outage several people reached out to KDKA-TV saying they had tried to reach Comcast customer service but hadn't been able to reach anyone.

This is what Comcast's current outage looks like according to downdetector.com.

Comcast reports that only television was affected and the services have now been restored.

They released the following statement:

"We have repaired the temporary network interruption that impacted some of our services this morning. Our engineers continue to work on this issue and almost all services have already been restored. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our customers."

According to Comcast's website, the outage reports began Monday morning.
