Shapiro Wins Wolf's Endorsement In Attorney General's Race
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Gov. Tom Wolf is backing Montgomery County's Josh Shapiro to be Pennsylvania's next attorney general.
Sunday's endorsement comes two months before Democrats pick a nominee to replace the embattled Attorney General Kathleen Kane. Shapiro helped lead Wolf's transition team. Wolf then tapped Shapiro to chair the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.

The 42-year-old Shapiro is Montgomery County's commissioners' chairman and a former state lawmaker. He's facing two district attorneys in the race for the Democratic Party nomination, Northampton County's John Morganelli and Allegheny County's Stephen Zappala.
Wolf cited Shapiro's defiance in Montgomery County of a Republican-backed voter identification law and Pennsylvania's law banning gay marriage, both later overturned by the courts. He also pointed to Shapiro's policy to stop paying management fees for pension fund investment services.
