Vontaze Burfict Points Finger At Teammate For Wild Card Loss To Steelers

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers went on the road and pulled off an incredible Wild Card win over the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this year.

Of course, they had some help after a Bengals meltdown in the fourth quarter. You know what we're talking about. Two personal foul penalties on the Bengals helped the Steelers move down the field for the eventual winning score.

One of those penalties was a vicious headshot on Antonio Brown that was delivered by linebacker Vontaze Burfict.

Earlier this month, Brown spoke about that hit and said, "Guys don't want to stop me anymore. They want to take me out. They want to kill me."

While most people point to that moment as a big reason why the Bengals lost that day, Burfict isn't one of them.

In fact, he threw an unnamed teammate under the bus in an interview with ESPN.

"There was only a minute left in the game," Burfict said. "Coach always says, 'Trust a teammate to pack your parachute,' and I trusted my teammate. I don't want to say any names, but I trusted my teammates to execute and finish the game."

The Cincinnati Bengals LB was very candid and honest with all of his answers in the aftermath of his hit on Antonio Brown, the team's wildcard loss to The Pittsburgh Steelers and his subsequent 3-game suspension. Burfict, while remaining very confident in his talent, also admitted that he will make some changes. Please Watch:

The unnamed teammate might just be running back Jeremy Hill, who fumbled late in the fourth quarter after Burfict's interception.

At least Hill took responsibility in the aftermath of the game.
