State police say some of his family members had a PFA against him and he allegedly violated that order by calling them.

According to police, a trooper was then called to the scene around 8 p.m., and that’s when he spotted Gorinski walking on the street.

The trooper flashed his lights and told him to stop, but he took off and ran behind a nearby house, officials say. The trooper chased Gorinski on foot.

That’s when Gorinski saw a woman driving nearby in an SUV, and tried to carjack her. Police say they believe he was aiming a gun at her.

Witnesses said they heard the trooper order Gorinski to put his gun down, but when he didn’t comply, the trooper reportedly fired multiple times.

“Asked if we could call 911, there were people shooting at each other. And I hadn’t heard the gunshots, but one of our servers had heard the gunshots. So I said, ‘I will call 911, somebody lock that front door so nobody comes in,’” Degennaro’s bartender Vonni Miller said.

The Westmoreland County Coroner was called to the scene where the suspect was pronounced dead.
