Partial Skull Found In Forbes Forest

SOMERSET, Pa. (AP) - State police are trying to determine whether a part of a skull found in a southwestern Pennsylvania state forest is human and, if so, how it got there.

Troopers from Somerset plan to have a forensic anthropologist examine the bones found Monday by state forestry workers in Forbes State Forest. That's about 55 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

Somerset County District Attorney Lisa Lazzari-Strasiser says the discovery is being treated as an active death investigation.

Police planned to take dogs back to the area to see if they can sniff out any other remains.
