PLUM (KDKA) — After an emotional and sometimes hostile meeting, the Plum School Board made an “offer” to school superintendent, Dr. Timothy Glasspool, on Tuesday night.
The offer involved placing him on administrative leave. He now has up to 48 hours to make a decision.READ MORE: UPS, United Way Team Up For 5K Benefit Race
The offer, made after board members met in executive session, came after the superintendent was hammered by critics at the Plum Junior High School.
Parent William Fenk said, “How many children got sucked into the cracks because you weren’t doing your jobs?”
Tensions were high as the School Board listened for two hours as irate parents and even some students aired their anger and disgust over with the way the school administration has mishandled the sex abuse scandal, which has cast a shadow over the district.
Dr. Glasspool was at the center of the storm.
Sylvia Ankrom, the senior class president, looking directly at Glasspool, said, “You don’t deserve to be at my graduation. It is specifically you, and as a speaker for my graduating class, we don’t want you there. Don’t show up.”
Officials are urging Glasspool to either step aside or to resign after a blistering 100-page grand jury report which was critical of the administration for turning a blind eye to obvious teacher misconduct.
For most of the night, Glasspool sat emotionless, listening to the repeated, impassioned calls for him to step down.

He responded by saying, ‘yes,’ and that he would work to try to rebuild the district’s reputation.
