Storms Move Through, Cause Power Outages & Flooding Concerns

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Heavy rain moved through parts of the area Thursday night, prompting flooding concerns, power outages and other damage.

The National Weather Service issued a Flood Advisory for Allegheny and Westmoreland counties through 10:15 p.m.

The storm came through Downtown Pittsburgh around 8 p.m.

Over at Station Square, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds match against the Richmond Kickers had to be delayed due to the rain.

On their Twitter page, the team said the storm has knocked out power at Highmark Stadium. They also said the outage appeared "to be affecting the entirety of Station Square."

Power was restored around 10 p.m. and the match continued shortly afterward.

Meanwhile, there were reports of trees and wires down all across Allegheny County, including in Liberty Borough, West View and Ross Township.

Also, a Three Rivers Rowing Association crew team out on the Allegheny River had some scary moments when the rains swamped their boat near the 31st Street Bridge.

The nine members of the team involved were able to make it to shore safely.
