PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Some severe weather is expected to impact parts of the area today.

This morning, isolated thunderstorms moved through the area, which triggered a couple of severe weather alerts.

According to KDKA-TV’s Jon Burnett, some heavy storms are expected to impact the area during the afternoon and early evening hours.

A cold front is moving through the area, which is triggering the storms. Once the cold front moves through, conditions will dry out and the heat will increase.

Temperatures are expected to soar into the 90s by the end of the week and into the weekend.
