Jerome Bettis Reflects On Football Career In New Article

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Former Steelers running back Jerome Bettis reflected on his time in the NFL in an article with "The Players' Tribune."

Bettis says he was ready to retire after losing to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game in January of 2005.

But he decided to come back for one more season, a season which made Bettis - known to fans as "The Bus" - a Super Bowl champion.

Bettis says his Super Bowl ring is still more important to him than his Pro Football Hall of Fame ring.

Bettis also talked about growing up in Detroit, playing at Notre Dame and how he orchestrated the trade from the Rams to the Steelers.
