SLIPPERY ROCK TWP. (KDKA) -- A man was seriously injured Monday after being struck by a vehicle in Slippery Rock Township.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. on State Route 422, just east of Young Road.

Police say an 18-year-old was traveling west and the victim, 48-year-old Perry Lawry, was sitting on the east berm.

As the vehicle approached, Lawry ran into the center turn lane and was struck.

He was airlifted to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators later found that Lawry committed a criminal trespass at a nearby residence and will be charged.
