Police Investigating Fatal Homewood Shooting

HOMEWOOD (KDKA) -- One man died after a shooting in Homewood early Saturday morning.

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office identified the victim as 33-year-old Michael Leonard, of McKeesport.

The shooting happened just after 3:15 a.m. in the 1000-block of Blackadore Avenue.

According to police, officers were called to the scene for a ShotSpotter alert. About 10 minutes later, a female called 911 and said the car she was driving had been shot, and she was driving to UPMC Mercy, where she dropped off Leonard.

Leonard had been shot multiple times.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital just after 4 a.m.

Police believe the vehicle was parked when someone approached the vehicle, opened the door and began shooting.

Pittsburgh Police are investigating.
