BULLSKIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) --- Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the discovery of human remains in Bullskin Township, Fayette County.

The remains were found Monday afternoon in a wooded area off of Bear Rocks Road, between Jeffrey and Forest Lake roads.

A forensic anthropologist from Mercyhurst University says they are human remains and they have to analyze the bones before releasing any other details.

Neighbors who live along Forest Lake Road are in disbelief.

Alena Dragovich said she was immediately concerned when she saw a state trooper vehicle parked on the road.

"Came up this way and I saw a state cop sitting here and I thought, 'That's weird, why is he here?' Because it's a very quiet road here," she said.

Dragovich said she saw more police start to line the road throughout the night and the activity didn't stop.

"Later at night, when it was dark, they set up lights and whatnot so they were definitely digging around in the woods there," she said.

State police haven't gone into much detail about how the human remains were discovered and an identity has not been released.

However, they did keep the area blocked and secured with an officer monitoring the area overnight.

Dragovich, who walks her dog in the area, said she's pretty creeped out because they come through the wooded area daily.

"It's just, it's weird and I can't believe I didn't stumble upon it before. I'm glad I didn't, but it's just weird. We walk through here all the time," she said.
