Man Critically Injured In North Braddock Shooting

NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa. (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a shooting that left one man critically injured in North Braddock overnight.
Officers were called to the incident in the 400 block of Hawkins Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. Friday.
"About 1 o'clock, 1:30ish, I heard two 'pow pows,' and I knew that they weren't like firecrackers or anything like that," said a woman who didn't want to be identified.
Police say the victim was a 32-year-old man who was shot in the abdomen. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
The woman told KDKA's Lisa Washington, "Apparently, whoever was shot was between my car and the wall."
She added, "I was upstairs getting ready for bed, and when I came downstairs by that time, I seen lights flashing in my kitchen."
Police say the motive for the shooting isn't clear and there's no word on suspects. Allegheny County Police are leading the investigation.
When asked how the shooting made her feel about her neighborhood, the unidentified woman answered, "It's unnerving at times and right now, it's unsettling. It's relatively a quiet neighborhood. It does have its problems, with the teens, but it's, relatively, everybody gets along with one another."
