12 Residents Displaced By McKees Rocks Apartment Building Fire

MCKEES ROCKS (KDKA) – A dozen people have been forced from their homes after a fire broke out in McKees Rocks Thursday morning.

According to officials at the scene, the fire broke out at an apartment building in the 700 block of Chartiers Avenue shortly after 6 a.m.

A resident called 911 after seeing flames on the third floor. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy flames on the third floor and one person needing to be rescued.

Several residents were treated for minor injuries. Several firefighters also suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
