UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- Fayette County Emergency Management says their 911 telephones are back up after an outage on Thursday.

The Agency said Thursday afternoon on their Facebook page that residents should call (724) 836-1551 to report emergencies.

Service was restored around 1 a.m. Friday.

According to officials, the Fayette County 911 building was reportedly struck by lightning just after 4:30 p.m., causing structural damage and most of the critical 911 center equipment to go offline.

No one was injured.
