PERRY SOUTH (KDKA) -- One person was hospitalized after a shooting in the city's Perry South section late Monday night.

The victim was found shot on Wilson Avenue near Drum Street just before midnight.

Police went back out to the scene Tuesday morning searching for clues. KDKA's crew spotted Pittsburgh Police and their K-9 scanning the sidewalk and the front yards of numerous homes. Officers were even seen laying down evidence markers.

Police say when they arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering from two gunshot wounds, including one to the stomach.

He was taken to the hospital and last listed in stable condition. He was undergoing surgery Tuesday morning.

Gwendolyn Smith, who has lived in this the neighborhood for 42 years, was on the third floor of her home when she heard the gunshots around midnight.

"And I looked out and I said, 'Holy hell, cars are all shot up, police are all over the place,'" said Smith.

She tells KDKA that police knocked on her door asking if she owns the black Lincoln SUV parked in front of her home. It's a vehicle that she says her son and daughter-in-law just bought for her.

"They took pictures inside and outside of my car. I've been hit five times," says Smith.

Multiple bullet holes can be seen in the back of the SUV. A bullet even made its way through the seats and her front windshield.

"For this to happen, I tell my son... 'Oh God,'" she said.

Police say when they arrived on scene last night a man was found on the street with a gunshot wound to the stomach and another to the lower leg. He was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery.

At this time, police haven't made any arrests.

The investigation continues.
