County Police Investigating Shooting In Homestead

HOMESTEAD (KDKA) -- Allegheny Police are investigating a shooting of a 16-year-old that took place in Homestead.

At approximately 2:30 on Friday afternoon, officers responded to a call of a shooting in 100 block of East 16th Avenue and when they arrived they found a 16-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds.

Their investigation learned that he was reportedly shot by young males traveling on East 16th Avenue in a white SUV. The male returned fire and both the SUV and the male fled the scene.

Multiple bullet casings along with a handgun were recovered from the scene.

The 16-year-old was transferred to a local hospital in stable condition. He will be charged as a juvenile with possession of a firearm by a minor, violation of the Uniform Firearms Act, recklessly endangering another person and false reports.
