First DCNR Weekly Foliage Report Released

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It may be fall, but the region's trees aren't ready yet.

The State Department of Conservation and Natural Resources released its first fall foliage report on Thursday.

It shows Western Pennsylvania isn't showing much color right now.

A few trees have begun to change, but peak color is still three weeks to a month away.

In the Northeast near the Poconos, trees are approaching their best color.
