Car Crashes Into Support Beam At Soregels Orchards

WEXFORD (KDKA) -- A woman crashed her car into a support beam at Soregels Orchards.

The woman accidentally stepped on the accelerator rather than the brake in the parking lot, causing her to collide with a support beam that supports the building's overhang while hundreds were enjoying the first fall-like day of the season.

The accident happened on one of the busiest days of the year during Soregel's Orchards' Fall Festival.

"Fortunately nobody got hurt but it was smacked into a supporting beam on the front of our market, then backed into another one and then at the same time happened to hit a car as well as a customer that was here," said Eric Boll, a Soregel's family member.

The woman that was hit refused medical treatment.

After some minor repairs, the building was declared safe.

"Support posts that we've got put in the Fire Marshal and building inspector had given the clearance that we were perfectly safe and ready to go for tomorrow," Boll added.

A family spokesman says they're planning to take extra measures to make sure this doesn't happen again.
