K9 Niko is retiring from active duty next week, announced by the Baldwin Borough Police Department.

Niko was purchased through the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation in 2010.

“His retirement is well earned. He will be missed,” the post said.

Niko and his handler, K-9 Officer Lou Parrotta, were honored for their work in the community on Tuesday.
