According to the McCandless Police Chief Ryan Hawk, the call came in just before 2:30 p.m.
He said a man and a woman got into an argument outside of the home and the man went back into the home.
That’s when Hawk said the woman heard a gunshot and immediately called 911. McCandless Police and the North Hills Special Response Team arrived at what they believed to be a domestic situation. They treated it as a barricaded situation, not knowing what was happening inside.READ MORE: Man In Critical Condition After Shooting In Pitcairn
When they were able to get into the home, they found the man dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identifies the man as 50-year-old Christopher Kinzler.
“Deceased since that gunshot was heard,” said Chief Ryan Hawk. “At this time, we can say this was not a situation where anyone was barricaded.”
The police chief said his officers have responded to this home before but did not know the specifics.MORE NEWS: Three Victims Recovering, Suspect In Custody After Shooting In Mall Parking Lot
