Pittsburgh Crime Levels Drop During First Half Of Year

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh saw a significant drop in crime during the first half of 2020.

Police say that overall crime dropped 16% from 2019 to 2020.

Violent crime dropped 8%.

Crime levels are down nearly 25% from the five-year average.

The biggest drop was in Zone 4, which includes Oakland, Squirrel Hill, and Shadyside.

Overall crime and violent crime both went down.
