Two positive cases within two weeks caused the school to switch to remote learning.

ALVERTON, Pa. (KDKA) – Southmoreland High School is closed after two positive COVID-19 cases within two weeks.

The district alerted families to the closure and said that it will reopen next Tuesday.

Students now are learning remotely.

Along with the school closure, the district also canceled high school athletics and extracurricular activities until Monday.

This includes homecoming and senior night – which will be rescheduled.
