Pittsburgh-Based Duolingo Files To Go Public, Reveals Significant Revenue Surge

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh's going to have a new company on the Nasdaq ticker.

The language app DuoLingo is going public.

It'll be listed with the letters DUOL.

Carnegie Mellon alum Luis Von Ahn founded the company 10 years ago.

The company became more profitable when more people subscribed to the app during COVID lockdowns.

DuoLingo's revenue went up 129% between 2019 and 2020.
