Prosecutors Pushing For Trial To Begin This Fall In Case Against Robert Bowers

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The trial for Robert Bowers, the accused gunman in the 2018 shooting at Tree of Life Synagogue, could begin this fall.

Prosecutors want to begin jury selection in September and have proposed for a trial date to begin in October.

A lawyer defending Bowers says they won't be ready for trial until late next year.

They blame the delay on the push for the death penalty, a large amount of evidence, and the pandemic.
