HD Radio

You can now hear The Voice of Pittsburgh – NewsRadio 1020 KDKA and 93-7 The Fan in HD Radio technology!

The FCC has approved HD Radio as the system to enable AM and FM radio stations to broadcast their programs digitally. The noise and interference that cause the static, hiss, pops and fades heard on today’s analog radios are virtually eliminated with HD Radio.

HD dramatically enhances sound fidelity: AM sounds like FM, and FM rivals the quality of your CD player!

To hear NewsRadio 1020 KDKA or 93-7 The Fan in their purest, clearest digital form, you’ll need a special HD Radio receiver for either your car or home audio system. Click Here for a list of radios. Once you have an HD Radio receiver, there are NO subscription fees. It’s FREE for consumers.

Because this new digital standard doesn’t require new channels, KDKA will remain at 1020 AM and The Fan at 93.7 FM. You can also hear KDKA on the HD-3 channel of 93.7 FM.

But if you have a new HD Radio receiver, you’ll hear us at our best in the new digital format!
