Bryant Reed joined the KDKA news team as a reporter in January of 2021.
Bryant covers all sorts of news stories including breaking news, human interest and crime, to enterprise stories you might not hear about every day. Before joining KDKA, Bryant worked at the beach with WECT, an NBC/Fox affiliate in Wilmington, North Carolina as a Multimedia Journalist shooting, writing and editing his stories. He also filled in to anchor a variety of shows. While in Southeast NC, Bryant was especially familiar with covering severe weather, like Hurricanes Dorian and Isaias in back-to-back years. Bryant has also been regionally recognized by the RTDNAC in the past for a Special Report based on Black Lives Matter protests. Bryant has a strong foundation, having family in the news and sports business across the country. While in college at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, he interned with NBC in Brazil for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He is originally from Charlotte, NC, but is no stranger to the Pittsburgh area. He has plenty of family here and spent summers and winters in the area and even participated in Pitt basketball camps with Jamie Dixon as the coach. He is looking forward to telling stories the community has to offer and immersing himself in all Pittsburgh has to offer. You can always find him getting some exercise, with family or trying out one of many local restaurants. |
