Wild Wednesday

The wild Wednesday event at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium is being sponsored by the PA Leadership Charter School. At this event, families will enjoy some great times interacting with different animals every week, fun and exciting learning activities, and live entertainment. There are new themes presented throughout the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium for Wild Wednesday, so be sure to check it out more than once.

Yoga At PPG Aquarium

Date: June 19, 2015 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Try an entirely new experience with Yoga at PPG Aquarium. The instructor, Erin, caters to all levels of Yoga experience while guiding you through "a journey to the depths of peace." This is a one-hour class, so be sure to bring plenty of water along with your yoga mat. During this class, you will practice the art of Vinyasa flow, which concentrates on connecting the body awareness and breathe as you move from one posture to the next.

Date: July 31, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

This year, the 17th annual Summer Safari transports you to an island of fun and entertainment. Enjoy live entertainment, delicious food, wild animal interactions, and tasty cocktails. The Summer Safari event invites you to take in the sights and sounds of island life as they celebrate the opening of a new exhibit, fittingly called, "The Island." This exhibit opens this summer, and features a handful of the most endangered animals on the planet. The event is for guests 21 and up. Tickets are $80 or $120 for VIP. If you spring for the VIP tickets, prepare for unique animal encounters, special food stations, live entertainment, and VIP-only bars. You can also arrive early for the special VIP-only private pre-party.

Kid's Zoofari

Date: August 15 through 18, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Kids' Zoofari is a great time for kids of all ages. This event lets kids explore their curiosity of animals with animal experts, enjoy activities and crafts, and even touch a stingray. All activities associated with Kids' Zoofari are free with general admission.

Sept. 11, 2015 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Celebrate this year's Oktoberfest early with ZooBrew. Unlike any other Oktoberfest, drink beer and party the night away within the walls of the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium. Enjoy a wide variety of food by Taste of The Wild Catering, music, and, of course, craft beer. This event is for the older members of your family, so be sure you bring a valid ID for entry. Besides wonderful memories, all guests will take home a commemorative mug for sampling beers throughout the night.
