First-time mothers 35 and over sometimes have difficulty connecting with other new moms. One way to do this and to expand their new child's world is to check out the Pittsburgh Toy Lending Library, a cooperative run by volunteers. The library is for infants through kindergarten-aged children and their parents or caregivers. It includes an indoor play space, and toys can be borrowed and taken home. Pittsburgh Toy Lending Library hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Membership levels begin at $25.
