      Salt is a well-oiled, high octane fueled machine, the perfect vehicle for the ample assets of the talented Angelina Jolie. This latest contender for summer blockbuster supremacy delivers all the action and thrills to take a serious stab at the title.
     CIA agent Evelyn Salt is introduced as a captive in a North Korean prison, Enduring severe torture in only her panties and bra. Swapped back to the states a few years pass as we find Salt at a Fed. desk job when a soviet-era russian walks in claiming to have information about soviet sleeper agents alive and well in the U.S., including Evelyn Salt. Forced on the run and using all her skills to evade capture, Salt sets out to prove her innocence and get home to her husband.
     The far-fetched plot touting sleeper-cell spies and dangerous double agents was given a timely shot in the arm when just a few weeks ago 10 russian spies were dredged up and shipped out.
     If its action you crave, Salt is the picture for you. Equal parts Bond and Bourne with a dash of Macgyver this well made film just might be the perfect condiment for your summer movie menu.
 
Warning -Although this film is rated PG-13 Salt is surprisingly violent with a number of scenes where the female lead is severely beaten and tortured.
