Pa. Statewide Races Too Close To Call

The statewide candidates for governor and U.S. Senator now find themselves in a political nail-biter, at least according to two latest polls.

Public Policy Polling of likely voters has Republican Tom Corbett and Democrat Dan Onorato in a statistical dead heat, with Corbett at 48 percent, Onorato at 46 percent and six percent undecided.

Undecided voters also hold the key in the Senate race between Republican Pat Toomey and Democrat Joe Sestak, also a statistical tie.

The Quinnipiac Poll gives Toomey 48 percent, Sestak 46 percent with six percent undecided.

In both races, there is a gender gap with men backing the Republicans and women supporting the Democrats.

Fifty-two percent of males support Corbett against 42 percent for Onorato and 54 percent of males support Toomey with 40 percent for Sestak.

Fifty percent of females support Onorato against 43 percent for Corbett and 53 percent of females back Sestak over 41 percent for Toomey.
