It doesn’t matter if they convinced Connie Mack to return from the dead he can not make this team a winner. I think they should just hire Porter or Bannister and let them serve as the sacrifical lamb for awhile. There are some positives in the Pirates starting line up but there are very few bright spots in the rotation. If the Pirates (I say this knowing it won’t happen) go get a solid pitcher who can eat 200+ innings and someone with at least 25 homer power then maybe I’ll start thinking they could go .500 until then this will still be just a showcase for other teams to pick from.

It’s obvious that the new manager will be Bo. His lineage being from Cleveland, the lack of any experience and the fact that he will come cheaply fits perfectly with the Pirate executive management style. The problem is the decision making of Pirate ownership and executive management.
