South Park Native Charged In Assault

A 63-year-old man from South Park has admitted to a charge of aggravated indecent assault in connection with a 4-year-old girl who is described in court papers as a close family friend.

The incident occurred in the 1990's outside Philadelphia and Jerome Potosnak pleaded guilty to the charge Monday in Montgomery County Court. Sentencing has been delayed, pending an investigation to determine whether he should be judged a sexual violent predator under Megan's Law.

Potosnak's ex-wife, Bonnie McElheny of Munhall, told KDKA-TV that she wants to see him sentenced to the maximum term, adding that she feels the maximum isn't enough.

As for the young victim now in her teens, McElheny said having a relationship with a guy is really tough on her.

The family is trying to get the victim counseling so she can move on with her life.
