PITTSBURGH (93-7FM The Fan) – ESPN.com and NHL Network hockey analyst, EJ Hradek, called into The Fan Morning Show to talk about all things Pittsburgh Penguins from a national perspective.

Hradek offers the viewpoints of national hockey experts on the play of goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.

The analyst says he thinks the “real” Fleury is a good goaltender, but needs to find a way to be more consistent.

Also, Hradek doesn’t think the Pens should give up on star forward Evgeni Malkin because of his lack of production recently.

However, Hradek says he wonders how long the team can keep three top players. That’s because when you have highly-paid players, you can’t fill other positions due to the salary cap.

Hradek is also very impressed with the play of Kris Letang and how he moves the puck in the faster-paced NHL.

Hradek tells Jim Colony that the Washington Capitals should turn around their play soon and is confident they will make the playoffs this year, but he is not as confident about the New Jersey Devils.
